About CPHUL

History

In the spring of 2005, State College High School competed in the 2005 Pittsburgh High School Ultimate League season, making the long trip to Pittsburgh every few weekends to compete. Darren Shultz, the Pennsylvania State Youth Coordinator, and David Vatz, the Pittsburgh High School Ultimate League Advisor, wanted to create a new league for teams like State College. Darren and David turned to Justin Burdett, the PHUL Outreach Director and Penn State University student, to lead this new league. All three watched as four teams competing in the inaugural CPHUL season in 2006.
